Luxury Food at Fenway
Gilt City put on an exclusive Pop-Up Dinner at Fenway Park during the All-Star break, and we had a backstage pass to capture the event. The all-star line up of Chefs Geoffrey Zakarian (Chef Jake) and Michael Schlow made this event a hit from the start. A menu featuring caviar, seasonal vegetables, tuna tartare, lobster and milkshakes seemed all too appropriate for Boston in the Summer.
A Real Exclusive
Gilt City is fast becoming an engine for fabulously exclusive events and experiences. With coverage in various cities, they have captured gold mines in local markets while leveraging their national reputation. With offerings ranging from $25,000 wedding at L’Espalier to 40% off at exclusive retail sites, they understand their audience and their purse-strings.
Pop Up Dinner
Our cameras followed as the chefs set up an entire kitchen from scratch in a luxury suite. With two executive chefs in the kitchen, you’d think there could be too many cooks spoiling the stew, but the long-time friends Schlow and Zakarian collaborated on the whole menu. Chef Jake created a calamari salad and Chef Schlow one-upped him with a lobster that required 16 pounds of butter and loads of heavy cream.
What a setting
The real draw, if not the food, was being at Fenway Park with no one else around. One guest remarked how there is still an energy in the park, even when empty, and I agree.
Cameraman Tom Hamilton shot on a Canon HD at the end of the lens for more richness, laser focus in the foreground, and intense depth in the background. I cannot wait to see how the shots of an empty Fenway Park and world-renowned recipes look through that lens. Stay tuned for when we post the video. View more still images.
